Upcoming events are all subject to change depending on weather. Event calendar will be updated as more information is available.
This new crop map reflects our wonderful potato crop. There are more seed potatoes that were donated after we left. They with the rest of the seed potatoes are over by the district kitchen potatoes. There are four rows on either side of the district kitchen potato crop for community members to use. This is all the space we can dedicate to potatoes. The community rows have been divided in half for your convenience. After doing the math above, you may want to grow less. You can also go in on a row with another community member. Whatever you decide, the seed potatoes are there waiting for you to use. For those who didn’t get the crash course in potato planting: Cut each seed potato so that an eye (gross sprouty leg like thing growing out of the potato) and at least an inch of potato are left and put in the furrow; cover with about an inch of soil and pat the earth on top. You can get several seed potatoes out of one potato.
I will be writing the crops on the stakes so that there is no confusion about where to plant what. This should be done by the end of the week. It is still too early to put starts in the ground. You could plant cold weather crops. See the website’s link to WSU Master Gardener’s site for that info. We also don’t have a fence or irrigation yet, but will have them as soon as permits come through, which I have faith will be soon! Click here to see the garden map
