Purchasing Information All EVSD technology purchases must be approved by the Technology services. Staff members may contact the Technology Department at 241-4000 for technical assistance and for a price quote. The EVSD Technology Committee has selected Dell as the standard for Desktop PCs and laptops. We purchase the Optiplex line for our desktops and Latitude line for our laptops from Dell's K-12 Educational Price Lists, WSIPC Contract: WPC-99-38/Dell.
Minimum Specifications for Donated Systems
While the intentions of individuals and organizations who wish to donate computer hardware to the district are appreciated, the district must consider the total cost of ownership of donated items. The cost for modifications and adaptations that must take place before donated hardware is useful for instruction often require expenditure of unbudgeted funds and several hours of technical support. Therefore, the following guidelines are the minimum for use in the district: Processor Speed
Pentium IV, 2.4 GHz or equivalent Memory
1 GB RAM or greater Hard Disk
80 gigabytes NIC Card
10/100 MBPs Sound
Sound Card or Integrated sound on the main board. CD-ROM
8X Monitor
17" CRT or 15" Flat Panel Keyboard
Standard 101 key with PS2 or USB connector Mouse
Two-button with PS2 or USB connector
