EastValleySchool District has a twenty-four hour information hotline.Call 242-7669 to receive daily information about school closures and/or school bus route changes.The information is updated by 5:30 am each morning.
With the assistance of ESD 101, information about school closings and/or school bus route changes is also provided to the local radio and television stations.
When a road or area is closed to school buses in the morning, the road/area will remain closed for the entire day.
Information about specific roads and alternate pickup/drop-off areas.
Certain roads and/or areas in the district are closed more often than others.For many of these, we provide alternate locations for student pickup and drop-off.These are not the only roads that may be closed to school bus travel, just the most commonly closed roads.Please check the Hotline, Website or listen to your local radio/television station for specific information about your area.The following are the more commonly closed roads in the EastValleySchool District.
Kath Road – When Kath Road is closed, the bus will pickup/drop-off students on Hauser Lake Road at Kath Road.
East Newman Lake Road – When East Newman Lake Road is closed to school bus travel, student pickup/drop-off will be at the ‘Y’, the corner of East Newman Lake Road and Starr Road.
West Newman Lake Road – When West Newman Lake Road is not accessible to school buses, students will be picked up/dropped off on Starr Road at West Newman Lake Road.
Campbell Road – Campbell Road may be closed to school buses past DaRue’s Turnaround (near 8504 N Campbell Road) at which time the pickup/drop-off is on Campbell Road at Campbell & Lincoln.If Campbell Road is closed at Trent Avenue the pickup/drop-off is at Happy Trails & Campbell Road.
Harvard Road and Morris Road – When it is necessary to close Harvard Road north of Trent Avenue and Morris Road between Harvard Road and Malvern Street, pickup/drop-off will be at the corner of Trent Avenue & Harvard Road and at Morris Road and Malvern Street.
Del Rey/Vista Grande - When it is necessary to close Del Rey/Vista Grande area, pickup/drop-off will be at the corners of Del Rey & Vista Grande and Del Rey & Olympic. There may be some occations when the pickup could be at Trent & Del Rey.
Judkins Road – Judkins Road may be closed to school bus traffic at either Morrison Road or Forker Road.When it is closed the pickup/drop-off will be at Judkins Road & Morrison Road or at Judkins Road & Forker Road, respectively.
Foothills Road – On those days when school buses cannot travel
Foothills Road, student pickup/drop-off will be at Forker Roadand Foothills Road.
Forker Road – Though not common, Forker Road is sometimes closed to school bus traffic.When that happens, student pickup/drop-off is at EastValleyMiddle School.
Sometimes, in particularly severe weather, school buses will not travel north of Trent Avenue in the eastern areas of the county. (East of Flora)
If the announcement is that all roads north of Trent Avenue are closed to school buses, the following roads, as well as all areas north of them, are affected:
Idaho Road Starr Road Harvard Road Campbell Road Del Rey/Vista Grande Drive
If these roads are closed, pickup/ drop-off of students will be at:
San Carlos Avenue & Robin Lane Trent Avenue & Lynden Road Trent Avenue & Harvard Road Trent Avenue & Campbell Road Trent Avenue & Del Rey Drive
Closure of Forker Road is announced separately.
