2007-2008 Bus Routes If you are inside the mile radius of your students school, you are probably in a walking zone. Many of the stops inside the walk zone will be removed. If this is the case, we recommend that you, along with your student, survey the walking routes to school. You ultimately are responsible for making sure your student know the best and safest way to get to school.

Check with your bus driver before using your cell phone.
BUS RULES!!! Know the Rules, Ride Safe.
Back to school safety tips for bus riders and their parents to review: • Have a safe place to wait for the bus, away from traffic and the street. Students should arrive at their stop five minutes before scheduled pick up time. • When being dropped off, students should exit the bus and walk ten giant steps away from the bus. Keep a safe distance between you and the bus. Remember that the bus driver can see you best when you are away from the bus. • Don’t start to board the bus until the driver gives the signal that it’s okay to approach the bus. • Be aware of the street traffic around you. • Once you are on the bus, remain seated and follow the driver’s directions. When the driver asks you to something or to stop doing something, don’t make a fuss or talk back. There’s a good reason for it. Children who walk to school should also follow safety rules: • Mind all traffic signals and/or the crossing guard. Never cross the street against a light, even if you don’t see traffic coming. • Walk your bike through intersections. • Walk with a buddy … walk with a buddy … walk with a buddy. • Wear reflective material. It makes you more visible to street traffic.
